Damn it. I went out for a walk in the rain - except the walk lasted a lot longer than originally intended. Now my t-shirt is soaking wet. Damn.

Went down to the old Botanic Gardens (Glasgow) railway station on Saturday with a mate - to get in you need to know where to find the remains of Kirklee station and this will ultimately lead you to the Botanic Gardens tunnel entrance. Fortunately someone had been there before us and had already jemmied open the metal railings, so we both squeezed through!

The tunnels offered a unique experience and added a new definition to the word 'dark'. Thankfully we had brought torches which allowed us to see what we were walking on, if not allow us to see what we were walking into!

The station itself is absolutely awesome - no other word describes the feeling of standing there. Plenty of photos were taken, and we continued up the eastern tunnel along Great Western road, until we found there was no way out at the eastern end, so we returned the way we had come.

All in all we spent an hour and a half down beneath the streets of Glasgow!
