Sometimes eBay really hacks me off. In fact, it hacks me off a lot of the time. It seems that the majority of users still don't fully read an advert, or simply assume something rather than check with the seller before buying. Do you think I'd put 'UK bidders only' if I actually meant 'open to everyone'? *Looks over at email from user just assuming that it would be easy for me to send the item to Europe* mad.gif I think users of eBay should be made to go through a reading test before they are allowed to signup. Or maybe just an eye check tongue.gif

12:13, 26 July 2006, Feeling fidgety

Busy busy busy day... my Lost in Translation DVD arrived! Hurrah biggrin.gif Work needs to finish faster... maybe if I work more and search Google Video less then 6pm will come quicker. Or not wacko.gif Note to self: Stop making rubbish little posts like this!

16:21, 24 July 2006, Feeling blank

Hmmm, I woke up this morning feeling very odd. And the feeling seems to have gotten worse during the day. I watched Lost in Translation last night, which made me think a lot. Maybe too much. It's an awesome movie with an awesome little story about nothing more than 'life', but it really got my head going. And now I feel like... blank. Not sure quite what on earth is going on with me to be honest. I've ordered the DVD so I can watch it again, maybe that will make me feel better wacko.gif

23:33, 21 July 2006, Feeling tired

Right, I'm gonna try and write something completely coherent. Just back from the city centre and am feeling rather the worse for wear. Like I actually had to look up how to spell 'wear' just now. I've made about 20 typos already. Oh well. It was a good night out!!

I gotta say though, it seems to be taking Booly Mardys longer and longer to serve up drinks now. I think we were all a bit dissapointed at how long we had to wait. We actually had to cut out our last drinks and just leave. One good thing though, it saved us a lot of cash!! laugh.gif Next time we'll try a different bar I think. Right, time to sign out; I'm tired closedeyes.gif

15:11, 19 July 2006, Feeling hot

Never thought I'd say this, but I really wish I had air conditioning in here just now. It is SO hot in here, and even worse outside. It's days like this that I wish I worked in an office, where someone could run down and get everybody ice creams.

Anyway, it isn't gonna last - prolly be back to 'normal' tomorrow! We'll see. Looking forward to taking Friday off work; hopefully I'll be able to take some more photos smile.gif

14:56, 17 July 2006, Feeling excited

Had this idea while trying to sleep last night that maybe I should try and sell a few prints of my work. So with much effort I have added a new page - which you can see the link for above - for buying prints! I've started off with just a very small selection of images that I feel make good large size prints, but basically anything in my gallery is available, so if you see something you want, just email me. If anyone sees any bugs in the ordering process, again please let me know smile.gif

Went to see the revamped Kelvingrove Art Gallery yesterday, and boy does it look good inside. The building itself feels like part of the collection, and certainly the star of the show just now. Was really nice seeing it so busy too. If you are visiting Glasgow then it's well worth your time, plus it's free biggrin.gif

21:20, 15 July 2006, Feeling surprised

What an amazing day! So many good things have happened today it's unbelievable biggrin.gif Only thing is I've now got a splitting headache, and each time the tannoy above me goes off it gets worse. I can totally live with that though!! Here comes the train...

09:33, 14 July 2006, Feeling amused

Hah, today is turning into an awesome day... To quote an article at Anandtech.com :- "Intel's Core 2 Extreme X6800 didn't lose a single benchmark in our comparison; not a single one. In many cases, the $183 Core 2 Duo E6300 actually outperformed Intel's previous champ: the Pentium Extreme Edition 965. In one day, Intel has made its entire Pentium D lineup of processors obsolete." That kinda says it all really. I'd love to know what's going on in the offices of AMD right now biggrin.gif

17:17, 13 July 2006, Feeling ok

Tomorrow could be an interesting day. The NDA on Intel's Core 2 Duo gets lifted, and the reviews should start pouring out on to the web. If anything, it should at least give some very interesting reading for the weekend, but it should also stimulate sales in what has been a very dry summer for the computing industry. Amusingly, I think the drought was partly caused by Core 2 Duo being hyped up so much in the first place. No one wants to buy anything until they've read the reviews and can make an informed decision. I've already made my informed decision; I can't wait to get my hands on Intel's new baby biggrin.gif

11:34, 12 July 2006, Feeling annoyed

I've just eaten a McVities Penguin bar, and half the colour on the plastic packaging has come off on to my hands. Now it's just getting everywhere; these little specks of plastic are all over my desk and my hands and everything I touch mad.gif

The CD I got on Friday with the amazing hidden track that I couldn't play is really superb. Hybrid - Morning Sci-fi; awesome album, and the hidden track is really great. Abe had to come over with his Pioneer DVD Burner to rip it though, pretty crazy laugh.gif

00:14, 11 July 2006, Feeling content

What is it about rain that makes me feel so cozy? I love the kind of rain that means you absolutely MUST use a towel when you get back in doors to dry yourself down. And that happened earlier this evening. It wasn't cold outside, but it was really really wet. And all I had was a light non-waterproof jacket, and a t-shirt. Anyway, dry now, still feeling slightly drunk, and definitely needing to go to bed!!! closedeyes.gif

20:45, 8 July 2006, Feeling good

Sitting on a train just now, feels kinda cool to be able to post while I'm out and about. Just waiting for all the party goers to get on at Croy. Seems pretty quiet tonight, i guess people stay indoors when it's pouring with rain! Damn the train in front that's running late dry.gif

14:44, 7 July 2006, Feeling frustrated

Just got a new audio CD which I KNOW has a hidden track at the beginning of it, hell I've heard it before on the net, but whatever I try and do I can't access it. I've used several pieces of software, and they can all 'see' it, but they can't actually play it back, because my optical drive is crap and incapable. I've tried it in another 7 devices too, including domestic DVD players and laptop CD drives, and not one can read the data from track 0. This is so bloody annoying!!! mad.gif

16:17, 6 July 2006, Feeling funky

Heh, Taiwanese manuals and PR materials are great. Just looking at this new motherboard sitting on my desk, and it comes with a remote control, with a button on it described as 'Noise Off' laugh.gif As my mate Thorbs said, "I saw it and thought, noise off? By disabling the fans? OK" laugh.gif

21:53, 4 July 2006, Feeling fine

Wireless networks - I guess that a fairly large number of broadband users now have a wireless router installed in their home; after all, using a laptop while sitting in front of the TV is far nicer than sitting at a PC on a desk in the corner of the room. But what continues to amaze me is the huge number of totally unsecured 'open' setups; those that would allow you to connect freely, browse the internet and potentially look at files on the local network. While configuring my Xbox 360 this evening to use my own wireless internet, it listed (for the first time) another hot spot provided by a rogue Belkin router. I knew it was a Belkin, because the owner obviously hadn't even changed the access point name. This got me interested, so I opened my window and hung the laptop out of it. To my surprise it found 3 more completely open networks, each provided by a different type of router, but each one left at the default settings with which the router shipped.

This isn't just the users that are at fault though. How can we all be expected to know wireless security inside out? Can't the manufacturer make it easier to set it all up? Well, I recently bought a Speedtouch 585, and while it can be as complicated as you want in terms of flexibility and features, Thomson supply it with a WPA key set right out of the box, and a leaflet telling you what it is. Any wireless user would then HAVE to use WPA, at least until they figured out how to turn it off. Now we just need more manufacturers to use a similar system rolleyes.gif

11:14, 4 July 2006, Feeling amazed

Wow. I'm writing this on a mobile phone (Sony Ericsson K800i) via the wap browser. Looks like I can navigate the whole of my site with it which is very cool, albeit useless. More later...

10:52, 2 July 2006, Feeling sticky

I love the new Maltesers advert on telly, it's awesome! biggrin.gif I went into the city centre this morning to get some shots while it was quiet. Glasgow is amazing at 9 on a Sunday morning. All you see is the odd person with a hangover searching for coffee, street cleaners trying to clear up last night's mess and those silly enough to get up that early because it was sunny outside (like me). I say 'was' sunny outside, because it's now raining and threatening thunder. But I've not really had a good thunder storm since I've lived here, so that would be pretty cool if it happened. Anyway, hopefully I've got some decent pics from this morning - as always if any catch my eye they'll end up online at some point cool.gif

17:11, 1 July 2006, Feeling happy

What a gorgeous day after yesterday's rain. Went down to Carlisle this afternoon, and the air-con was broken on the way back up mad.gif Was such a relief to get out of the train at the end! Anyway, time to go the pub biggrin.gif
