13:01, 23 August 2006, Feeling nothing

Wow, it's been almost a couple weeks since I updated the site. Well, that's not entirely true... I think I put a new photo up in the gallery a few days back. But it's nothing too significant.

I guess that not a lot has been happening really. Or not a lot worth posting about. I could tell you how poor Miami Vice (the movie) was, but then you probably already know that rolleyes.gif I could tell you how I've bought Street Fighter II Hyperfighting for the Xbox 360 but can't pass the 2nd fight. But that's just because I seem to suck biggrin.gif

I've ordered my first canvas print which is something I'm really looking forward to. Expensive, but at least it'll be totally unique cool.gif And I recently stumbled across a website (http://www.terratag.com/) which amongst other things sells some rather cool t-shirts. So that's it, for now anyway!

Like many people here in the UK, I woke up this morning to hear that overnight there had been a security alert issued to all british airports, and that passengers would no longer be allowed their hand luggage allowance on any flight.

I think I pretty much sat bolt upright at this point. Bear in mind that I heard this at 7AM and that normally I'm pretty much dead to the world at this time, and you get the idea that I didn't like this news much! I've been trying to figure out why it has made so much of an impact. Security has been pretty tight on flights for a long time now; when I flew to Geneva earlier in the year I was A) terrified of what the security guys would think of the camera tripod sitting in my suitcase and B) worried about all the photographic equipment that was in my backpack. As it turned out, all this worrying was unnecessary, and everything was cool in both directions. But in general the world has been getting tighter and tighter for years now. Certainly ever since I can remember. Soon we won't be able to move out of our homes without carrying all personal items in see-thru plastic bags. Just the other day I was in Central station and noticed the abundance of police offers and the airport style metal detector. All I was trying to do was change train; was that really necessary? If these new baggage rules become the norm in the UK, then I for one will be incredibly reluctant to fly in the future. I'm flying in December, and I had imagined a quick and painless journey as I'll only have a small backpack with me. It looks like the end of easy travel is finally here...

18:25, 5 August 2006, Feeling lazy

Kinda reluctant to post this as it'll make this page all tiny and crap again, lol. Gonna slow down with the number of posts I make; mainly because nothing *that* interesting is happening right now. Making plans to get out of the country for a weekend in December, but that's a long way off yet! Got a X6800 conroe in the post today, so I'll probably spend the evening playing with that. Need some food first though; I think curry tonight...
